How to remove sweat stains from clothes

It is inevitable, in the summer when temperatures or hot you will get sweat stains on your clothes. But not just then, also when you exercise, or just randomly when you are nervous. Sweat stains are one of the most common stains to have on your clothes. Sweat stains can look horrible on white clothes. In this article we answer the question: how can I remove sweat stains from clothes?

Remove sweat stains with liquid laundry detergent

The easiest way to remove sweat stains from clothes is to treat the stain with liquid laundry detergent. Rub some liquid laundry detergent on the stain before washing it and let the clothes absorb the detergent for about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, wash it in the washing machine (with your other laundry if you please). This should take care of the stain.

Alternative sweat stain treatments

Remove sweat stains in the sun

In the summer you can try to place your clothes in the son for a couple of hours. Make sure that the sweat stain faces the sun. In some cases, the warmth draws the sweat stain to the surface. After a couple of hours, pick it up and wash it immediately. Leaving the stained clothes in the sun will increase your chances on removing the stain after washing it in the washing machine. This will not work with heavily stained clothes.

Remove sweat stains with cold water and vinegar

Another option is to treat the stain with cold water and vinegar. Pour a dash of vinegar in a bucket and fill it with cold water. Put the stained clothes in it and let it rest for 30 minutes or so. After 30 minutes, wash the clothes in the washing machine. This should fix the problem.

Remove sweat stains with hydrogen peroxide

Our last option is to use hydrogen peroxide. Mix hydrogen peroxide with water. The proportions are about 50 percent water and 50 percent hydrogen peroxide. Leave the clothes in the bucket for about 30 minutes and then rinse with cold water. Leave the clothes out to dry. Do not use a dryer with this option, but let the clothes dry outside! You can buy hydrogen peroxide at your local drug store.

Hopefully any of these methods will help you remove the sweat stain from your clothes. If your clothes are heavily stained, then chances are that you will not be able to remove the stain. Good luck!
